Initiation

Operation Hack the Virus is about to begin. We are excited to see what you will create! Important things to know/do:

1. Join Slack

Almost all communications will be through Slack this weekend. If you haven't joined already please click the button below.

2. Choose a "Track"

We've broken up the content we've received from our experts into 4 categories.

- Medical Response and Healthcare Logistics

- Education

- Small Business + Restaurants

- Wellness and @Home Health

Review the content below to decide what you feel is most interesting to help on.

3. Join a Team

We are expecting 100+ people hacking this weekend and would love to get good collaboration happening. If you are coming with a team or have an idea you are interested in leading submit one using the button below. We will then start helping match people if needed.

If you do not have a team - please go to the #team-matching channel in Slack. Here post a message with 3 things.

1) A little about yourself

2) Which Track you are interested in

3) In what ways you want to help a potential team

Team Leaders will recruit team members from here. Feel free to then breakout into individual conversations and create your own channels etc.

4. Give us a heads up!

When you have your team locked in let us know. Slack, email whatever. There will be a lot of people in Slack to help. Please don't hesitate to reach out to anybody below:

5. Build something awesome and have fun. Make an impact!

As we get closer to the end of the hackathon we'll be sharing out on email + slack the submission form details. There will be options for demos to share live via Zoom Webinar or submit a screen recording w/ voice over.

Parts of this will be livestreamed on YouTube both Saturday for the kickoff (comments from the Bald Futurist) and Sunday to show your submissions. Tell your mom to check it out! :)

Sponsor Notes (Prizes)

IONOS is donating $10,000 in credits, as well as promotion and publicity through IONOS’ channels (social media, PR, website tbd) for the projects that come out of the hackathon. They will equally distribute the credits amongst all the teams that submit a project Sunday.

JetBrains will be giving free licenses to the team with the "Most Impressive" hackathon project.

Yeti is coordinating this event and will have small prizes to give out during the event. Stay tuned in Slack!
